Prioritize tasks according to depth.

By measuring the depth of a task, you’ll be able to focus your energy like a laser. This will boost your productivity and chances of success.

  1. Use the depth question to determine the depth of each task on your to-do list.
Ask yourself, “How long would it take (in months) to train a smart recent college graduate with no specialized training in my field to complete this task?”. Consider the task “build a PowerPoint presentation with sales figures.” This will require about two months, as the student will have to learn how sales metrics work.
  2. Prioritize tasks according to depth.
Do the task with the greatest depth first.
