Picture yourself three years from now and write a vision of yourself.

Each of us has some roles in society. We can be a father, a husband, a community member, a coworker, and so on. But whom we are trying to be in each of these roles? Way too often, the person that we want to be and who we really are, are not the same person. That’s why it’s good to imagine ourselves in the future or on our funeral, in order to understand what’s important for us there.

  1. ... at your funeral. What would you like your family, friends, and coworkers to say about you?
That is, define what you would want said about you for each of your roles. Your roles could be, for example, husband, father, son, coworker, business partner, and boss.
  2. Write down exactly what you would like to hear them say.
This should be part of  your mission statement.
