Develop awareness of your emotions.

If you are aware of your emotions, you will be able to communicate them with clarity. This will encourage your partner to communicate their feelings too, so you can build a strong, healthy relationship.

  1. Three times a day, ask yourself, “What emotions have I felt in the last three hours?”
Write them down in a notepad, and include a few words to describe the event that caused you to feel that way.
  2. Establish a daily sharing time where you and your partner will each talk about three events of the day.
Refer to your notebook here. This will help you express your emotions to your partner clearly and effectively, as well as foster quality conversation.
